'Free Thinking Society on 14 August 2023 in Stourbridge, West Midlands, UK.
Carl is the author of the alternative knowledge blog website "The Truth Seeker's Guide" and is also the author of four alternative knowledge books. Carl also runs the Electric Media Madness YouTube channel which revisits classic Scifi TV series episodes and films - often with an "alternative knowledge" slant. "In The Weeds" gives an in-depth expose of the "dark heart" of the media industry. "Insightful" features special guests where he talks about the genre via alternative knowledge research he has conducted.
In this presentation Carl presents the idea that the 1938 CBS radio broadcast of
The War of the Worlds (presented by Orson Welles and the Mercury Theatre on the
Air) was an psychological experiment to study public reaction (and the
potential for psychological manipulation and social engineering) to the output
of the mainstream media. Was there really a "mass panic" reaction to
the 1938 broadcast? Was the broadcast itself part of a study financed by The
Rockefeller Foundation? How much was Orson Welles a part of the psychological
experiment and study? How much does the broadcast and psychological study
factor into the ET/UFO paradigm? Was the study of the broadcast a "test
bed" template / model for the role that the media would play in subsequent
historical events like WWII and 9/11?
